According to ControlTowers.co.uk, Great Limber was a decoy airfield for RAF Elsham Wolds to the north-west, although this is not mentioned in the 'authoritative' publication Bomber County or in 20th Century Defences in Britain. Any further details would be appreciated by the webmaster.

A visitor to the site has provided information that Air Britain serials reports that Oxford I, V4214 of 15 PAFU lost sight of the flarepath and overturned whilst landing on Q-Site, Great Timber (sic), Lincs 14 Aug 1942.
