as a Chain Home Low station during the Second World War and later. This
station on the Chain Home Low network helped provide early warning of
Luftwaffe raids on the approaches to Sheffield and Nottingham and the
Midlands. It had a Lincolnshire Chain Home High counterpart at Stenigot.
