"I have a photograph of my uncle John Lonsdale Swanson and other crew
Members taken standing in front of a twin engined aircraft, did 619
sqdn only ever fly Lancasters or did they convert from a twin engine
aircraft.
My uncle took off from Strubby on the 4/12/1944 at 16-45pm and they were
brought down at 19-56pm, all except two were killed. "

The inset is Sgt. Leslie George Weir, age 19, RAF-Volunteer Reserve Service #1894060. Son of Robert and Mary Weir of Greenwich, London.

The unidentified crew members are as follows:
• F/O Robert Harry Schaefer, age 22 RCAF-Pilot, service #J/35883. Son of Mr & Mrs Harry D. Schaefer of Hanover, Ontario
• F/O Philip Peter Awad, age 21 RCAF-Navigator, Service #J/39979. Son of Paul & Catherine Awad of Detriot, Michigan.
• Sgt. John Lonsdale Swanson RAF-Volunteer Reserve – Wireless Operator/Air Gunner Service #1138377. Son of Albert & Lilian Swanson of Seaton Delaval, Northumberland.
• Sgt. J. R. Keilty, RCAF-Mid Upper Gunner POW
• Sgt. J. E. Nicolaiff, RCAF-Rear Gunner POW
