Blankney Hall opened to the military in or before 1940 and functioned as the Digby Sector ops room from XX until 1945.
Before the end of 1945 it closed, re-opening the same September and was renamed Lincolnshire Sector HQ in November. It fulfilled this purpose until Mar 1946, closing the next month.
One of the WAAFs stationed at Blankney Hall was responsible for it burning down, by leaving her iron on.
The Hall was finally demolished in 1960 and Blankney is now home to a rather fine Golf Club.
