NAS Skegness was established at short notice by the RNAS in Aug 1914
to take charge of air patrols fromthe Humber to Cromer. Missions were
flown from here on 3 patrol routes which took in in turn Cleethorpes
and Mablethorpe, Cromer, and Mablethorpe and the Wash
Skegness's existence was extremely short, replaced within weeks by NAS
Killingholme.
Although there is a small pleasure airfield at Skegness Ingoldmels (ICAO
Code EGNI) this is not an historical military airfield. |
